Sunday, a triangular routing would be a perfect plan. I have to admit that the term is borrowed from the mobile network, but it can be figured out, isn’t it?
What’s the meaning of flea market? Fans may tell you it’s a place where you can buy that lovely stuff with a lower price. While someone must criticize that there are plenty of fake goods with poor quality. The Avondale Sunday Market, as the name mentioned, it only opens on Sunday. I’m not a big fan to a flea market, but when I have some spare time on Sunday, I’d like to go there for looking around. Well, it’s in a complicated case in the market, so I didn’t take a lot of pictures.
Anyway, it’s a good day for hiking, a little rainy but not too much.
Parking is aways a problem when you drive to the flea market, thus why so many people took their own risks and parked the car on the road.
The market is settled in a part of the racecourse. You see, the racecourse is used for selling luxury cars in Guangzhou, but holding the flea market in Auckland.
Because of the next hiking plan, my only achievement was:
Yum! Yum!
The next stop was Heron Park where is located at the western corner of Greate North Road has a great view to the Pollen Island.
There’s a rope slider in the park and it’s free.
And You can have a great view of Motu Manawa here. Actually, Motu Manawa is the Maori name of Pollen Island where is a marine reserve with a kind of birds and other species. I also took another trip through the North-Western Motorway on the other side of Pollen Island days later and I will write about that routing in another post.
Phyllis Street Reserve is located at the opposite of the Heron Park on the Greate North Road. It has a famous walkway connecting to Oakley Esplanade.
Deep into the forest.
The bridge is the entry of the magic forest.
Some ducks were playing under the bridge.
So, in the magic forest, you could catch mosquito by hand.
Yes, a tree house is an essential facility to the magic forest.
And …
The Oakley Creek Waterfall is a place of interest, but you may never have seen the waterfall on the other side. Yes, I climbed on the opposite of the walkway and the waterfall was under my feet.
The pool of waterfall.
Don’t be misled by the map. The right spot is No.4 which was pointed by my thumb.
I didn’t know the name of this trees in English. That’s why NatureWatch NZ is useful for me.
At the end of Oakley Creek Walkway, it’s a part of Unitec, I believe.
At the end of Carrington Road, on the cross of New North Road, it’s Triniti of Silver, my most like cafe shop. But why not try something new? Yes, this’s the Lodge Cafe. Taste good, but not as good as Triniti of Silver. 😛
The nearest way is crossing the Domain, so I could walk passing by Mt Albert Presbyterian Church.
Home! Finally, home!
At the end of La Veta Ave, I found a red cross that I didn’t notice before.
